Geocache Description:

We visit Quambatook at least twice a year, as Co.'s brother lives in Quamby. The town was calling out for a cache!!! This is Quambatooks first Cache and a Multi to boot. Quamby, as it is known to locals is the birthplace of country music performer John Williamson, who has written a song named for the town. At WP1 you need to answer a few simple questions to get the co-ords that will take you too GZ.

Quambatook is a town in Northern Victoria.. The town is located on the Avoca River in the Shire of Gannawarra Local Government Area, 302 kilometres from the state capital, Melbourne. At the 2006 census, Quambatook had a population of 253. Quambatook was settled following the end of the Victorian gold rush of the 1850s. Resumption of large squatter's land holdings for closer settlement in the 1870s lead to Quambatook becoming one of Victoria's leading wheat and sheep producing areas. Quambatook Post Office opened on 1 September 1879. Quambatook has been recognised as the tractor pulling capital of Australia with an annual competition, the Australian Tractor Pulling Championships, held at Easter since 1976. In fact, the town's motto is 'Land of wheat and wool, home of the tractor pull'. WP1 will have you standing at a gate in front of a War Memorial. Including the Heading.
