Geocache Description:

DO NOT attempt from Wooster unless you like crossing big creeks. Enter on Hutton and use the parking lot at the park. This area may get very wet at times due to flooding of Duck Creek. Please place container back as you found it so it does not get taken away by flooding from the Duck Creek.

Linwood is one of the smallest of Cincinnati’s neighborhoods, both in size and population of roughly 600 residents. Bounded by Otto Armleder Park and Lunken Airport the neighborhood of Linwood, Ohio was plotted in 1848 as a middle to upper income suburb.
The community grew up around Eastern Avenue with homes to the west, toward Mount Lookout, maintaining their affluence, and those to the east, toward the Little Miami River, attracting the working class to the factories that began to move in. It was incorporated as a village in 1874 and annexed to Cincinnati in 1896 as the area continued to develop.
In 1962, road builders extended Columbia Parkway through the middle of Linwood to Fairfax to ease traffic flow but it split the community right down the middle.
Linwood is also home to Caraustar, one of North America’s largest manufacturers of 100% recycled paperboard.
