Geocache Description:

This cache is located in the Farm Creek Preserve in the charming village of Rowayton, CT. This is the 1st geocache in Rowayton and is located along a public area along the Five Mile River. When originally placed, it held a Red Cross pin from Hurricane Katrina and a Breast Cancer Awareness pin. Bring a pencil.

Please protect this beautiful preserve as you take in the beauty of the creek. Enjoy a rest on one of the stone walls and benches.

Once known as an oyster town, Rowayton has developed into a combination suburb and resort village. In addition to its considerable marine life, there is quite a variety of suburban life, with plenty of cottages, capes, Colonials and contemporary homes in the village. Locals patronize the grocery store, dry cleaner, hardware store, deli and antique shops along the Main Street. Rowayton is "a delicious and crazy hodgepodge of boat yards, lobster fishermen, artists, writers, boating enthusiasts and just plain local people." Each year the village hosts "Shakespeare on the Sound" where a variety of plays are held in the lovely seaside park.

Farm Creek is owned by the Norwalk Land Trust and endowed to the people of the area and the beautiful water fowl and birds who enjoy the area.
