[LAT] Sleepnis atrodas Sestukalnaa, kur ir viens no 16 Struuves meridiaana loka punktiem Latvijaa. [ENG] The cache is hidden on the Sestukalns, where one of the sixteen Struve Geodetic Arc points in Latvia is situated.
[LAT] STRUVES MERIDIANA LOKS - tas kaa kultuurveesturisks mantojums 2005.gadaa tika iekljauts UNESCO Pasaules mantojuma sarakstaa. Meridiaana loks, kursh sniedzas no Ziemelju Ledus okeaana liidz pat Melnaas juuras piekrastei, tika meeriits no 1816. lidz 1855.gadam un tika lietots, lai noteiktu Zemes izmeeru un formu. Struuves meridiaana loks shkjeerso 10 valstis. Latvijaa ir bijushi 16 Struuves meridiaana loka punkti, no kuriem 2 ir iekljauti UNESCO sarakstaa. Gjeodeezisko meeriijumu punkts "Sestukalns" tika uzmeeriits un nostiprinaats dabaa 1824.gadaa un shodien tas ir Latvijas horizontaalaa gjeodeeziskaa atbalsttiikla 1.klases punkts.
[ENG] STRUVE GEODETIC ARC - in year 2005 the Struve Geodetic Arc has been included in the UNESCO World Heritage List. The arc, which stretches from the Arctic Ocean to the shores of the Black Sea, was measured from 1816 until 1855 and has been used to determine the size and shape of the Earth. The Struve Geodetic Arc passes through ten countries. In Latvia there are 16 points of Struve Geodetic Arc and two of them are preserved. Geodetic survey point Sestukalns was measured and established in 1824 and today it is Class 1 station of the horizontal geodetic control network of Latvia.
