Geocache Description:

The cache is located between "Malka Dragoyna" and "Dragoyna" peaks on altitude 710m.

Dragoyna is a peak in the northern part of Eastern Rhodopes at an altitude of 813 meters. There is an archaeological site - a village that was inhabited by 18 to 3 century B.C.
Your starting point is Dragoynovo village. There was born the most famous rebel in Southern Bulgaria - Angel Voyvoda.
The hike is about 2 hours on the trail with blue markers.
Before you reach the village you will see a bower and stone with inscriptions on it. It is claimed that here was born Angel Voyvoda. On the way to the top you will see another stone - watch post (WP1). There is beautiful view from Malka Dragoyna Peak to Aida Peak. We recommend getting to the Dragoyna Peak (WP3) and see the archaeological excavation. There is beautiful rock formations in the northwest(WP4). The visibility reaches over 40 kilometers.
There is another fast approach to to the summit, starting just before you enter Bukovo village, on the Eastern slopes of Dragoina. Climb up directly heading to the recess between Goljama and Malka Dragoina. There is a spring water around the middle of the road. When reaching Malka Dragojna , there are two options, either directly up on the very steep slope of Goljama Dragoina, or cutting it a bit East and up until getting from the back.

Драгойна е връх в северната част на Източните Родопи с надморска височина 813,6 м. Там е разположен и археологически обект-селище,което е било обитавано от 18 до 3 век пр.Хр. Вашата изходна точка е с.Драгойново.Там е роден най-известния хайдутин в Южна България - Ангел войвода. Преходът е около 2 часа по пътека със синя маркировка. Малко преди селото ще видите беседка и камък с надписи. Твърди се, че тук е бил роден войводата. По пътя към върха ще видите друг камък с надпис - караулен пост на Ангел войвода(WP1). От вр.Малка Драгойна на югоизток се разкрива красива гледка към вр.Аида. Препоръчваме ви да се качите до самия връх Драгойна (WP3) и да видите археологическите разкопки. На северозапад има много красиви скални образувания (WP4) и при ясно време видимостта достига повече от 40 километра.
Има и друг бърз подход , буквално от табелата на село Буково, което е под източния склон на Драгойна. Катери се право към премката между Голяма и Малка Драгойна. По средата на пътя има чешма. От премката вариантите са два, директно по купoла към Голяма Драгойна, или леко в ляво като се подсича купoла от източната страна, докато се заобиколи.
