While I feel that Geocaching.com should hold the location for the cache owner and block other cachers from placing a cache in the area around this cache for a reasonable amount of time, we can’t do so forever.

Nothing seems to happen with this cache listing, so it is now archived, so that someone else can place a cache in the area, and geocachers can once again enjoy visiting this location. Also, if it hasn’t been done already, please pick up any remaining cache bits as soon as possible.

If the owner wants it reopened, send me an e-mail and I’ll be happy to unarchive the cache listing if it still satisfies the requirement/guidelines.

Denne geocachen er mellom noen steiner i bakken på nordsiden av Utsikten. Fra Utsikten kan du se over vannet til Rosenberg Verft på Buøy.

Rosenberg Mekaniske Verksted ble stiftet i 1896 i Sandvigå. Aksjekapitalen ved oppstart var på
54 000 kroner og det var 13 ansatte ved bedriften. Begynnelsen av første verdenskrig (1914-1918) startet en stor ekspansjon i verftsindustrien. Verftsområdet i Sandvigå var for lite til å utbygges og i 1915 ble verftet på Buøy etablert. Det ble blandt annen bygget en tørrdokk med kapasitet til å bygge skip opp til 12 000 tonn.

I dag har verftet over 600 ansatte og er en av de største leverandørene til den norske oljeindustrien.

This geocache is placed between some stones on the north side of Utsikten (The View). From Utsikten you can look across the water to Rosenberg Shipyard at Buøy.

Rosenberg Mechanical Workshop was founded in 1896 in Sandvigå. The share capital at the start was set to
54 000 kroner and there were 13 employees at the company. The beginning of the First World War (1914-1918) started a major expansion in the shipbuilding industry. The yard area in Sandvigå was too small to expand, and in 1915 they established the shipyard at Buøy. At the new shipyard they built a dry dock with the capacity to construct ships of up to 12 000 tonnes.

Today the yard has over 600 employees and is one of the largest suppliers to the Norwegian oil industry.
