tealcat: This cache had a good run, but indeed the crepe myrtles that had concealed the cache have been cut down. Since it looks like there will be some work going on for a while at this part, and since I cannot simply replace the missing container, it is time to archive this one.

Geocache Description:

Rather Park is a downtown park in Huntsville, Texas.

Rather Park is the old home site of Rawley Samuel Rather, his wife Mary Caroline Henry and their five children. Rawley Samuel Rather was the mayor of Huntsville at the time of his death in 1907. The home was built in 1886 and demolished in 1977. The Rather-Powell family donated the site to the city of Huntsville for a downtown park.
