Porec (Italian Parenzo, Latin Parens or Parentium) is a tourist town and port on the west coast of Istria. Porec has a mild Mediterranean climate and a large number of beaches, a picturesque old town and surrounding areas, and interesting cultural / historic sites.
The area of Porec has been inhabited since prehistoric times. During the 2nd century BC, Roman castrum was built, a little later Municipium, and in the 1st century it became a colony. After the Roman rule, Goths came and then Byzantines and Franks. For a few years Porec even had its own municipal government. From 1267 to 1797 it belonged to Venice. After the fall of Venice it came under Austrian rule. From 1918 to 1943 it belonged to fascist Italy.
Between the 12th and 19th centuries, the city had strong defensive walls. During Venetian rule they had to reinforce the walls and built the towers (15th century) for defense against Turkish attacks. Among the many remains of the rich and turbulent past of Porec there are still three medieval towers visible: a round one in the south, a pentagonal at the entrance to Decumanus street and another defense tower. To get the set of final coordinates of the cache you have to find these towers.
On each tower there is a board (sign) with the year of formation.
