Geocache Description:

Your seeking a camo’d (painted black and grey) large pill bottle that contains a pencil and a log. This is a very popular place, especially in the summer and will require stealth - adding to the excitement of the find !

Park in the small lot on the West end of this park, known to all the locals as Surf Side Beach. There is a sign in this lot from the Historical Society that tells about the discovery of Lake Minnetonka. Take the time to absorb a little history. The grey building to the West of this parking-lot is the old train depot that was in downtown Mound. It use to sit where the Crow River Bank and the parking lot to the East of them is now. It was the end of the line for tourists coming out to the lake area. From here they took steam boats and other excursion boats to the resorts and hotels that dotted the lake shore. The Jubilee grocery store in Mound has some neat old pictures from that era throughout the store. One last bit of history- If you go West from this parking-lot about a block, turn left on Highland Blvd and go another block, you will come across Highland Park. Bill Graham held a “Tent Revival” on this spot during the early part of his career.
