Geocache Description:

Under the authorisation of the Light Railway Order in 1903 the branch line to Bulford was opened in 1906. Originally the line was to run from Grateley across Salisbury Plain to Shrewton via Newton Tony and Amesbury. The Grateley and Amesbury section opened in 1902. The Shrewton line never opened. Passenger service was withdrawn in 1952. The line remained open for goods service and troop trains until finally closing in 1963.

The site of the old Bulford station is now occupied by the military. The houses and the GZ for this cache stand as a reminder of the history of the area.

An easy cache and dash with limited on street parking in the area. Beware of muggles in nearby houses.
