We love to receive mail, and haven't heard from you for a while. In fact, we're pining for a postcard of your latest travels!! To assist, we thought we'd place a letterbox cache in this area so that we can collect the mail regularly, and to bring a new type of cache to the high country, whilst bringing you to a place where you can see one of the best views of our favourite country hideaway town.
Instead of a traditional log book, there is a pile of blank postcards in the cache. Your mission is this…
1. Bring along your own postcard, or select a postcard from the cache that appeals to you – perhaps it is a place that you have visited or would like to visit.
2. Write your log in the form of a postcard to us (Aussiepuschaks). Perhaps a note about your trip to the wonderful town you can see below the cache (Bright), your adventures geocaching, or a pretend story.
3. Make sure you stamp your postcard using one of the ink stamps in the cache before you post your postcard. The stamps in the cache have a pirate theme, but you may like to bring your own stamp or sticker.
4. Post your completed postcard/log in the plastic sleeve provided.
Please access the cache from the top, not the front. When you return the top stone, please also try to keep the grass fronds out and hanging over the top of the stone to retain the "natural" look.
Travel bugs and geocoins are always welcome and may be posted here.
It goes without saying, but we'll say it anyway, if you have geokids with you, please instruct them not to climb on the nearby installation. Instead, get them to look out and try to spot paragliders, sailplanes and ultralights that often fly around this area in the warmer months, or spot the snow covered peaks in the distance.
You can walk or drive to this cache, either is along the marked "Tower Hill" track that takes you to the Tower Hill lookout above Bright.
