Situé à 978 m d'altitude, ce col situé au nord de la vallée du Paillon de Contes (Coaraze) est très proche (1,4 km) du col Saint-Roch ce qui lui ouvre la voie vers Turini ou la vallée du Paillon de L'escarène (Lucéram). Les meilleures vues se situent juste à l'approche du sommet où se trouvent un parking et la cache.
