Geocache Description:

Der Cache liegt nahe an der Grenze zu Österreich und ist sehr gut erreichbar. Von 23.00 - 06.00 Uhr besteht Fahrverbot zum Parkplatz in Österreich.
Vom Parkplatz ist der Cache zu Fuss innerhalb weniger Minuten erreichbar.
The cache is near the frontier to Austria and is very good reachable. From 23.00 - 06.00 h is no driving allowed to the parking area in Austria.
From the parking area is the cache within a few minutes reachable by foot.

Informationen: Das Rohr wurde zur Wasserabführung von Diepoldsau (Schweiz) und zur Wasserregulierung des alten Rheins erbaut. Interessant zu wissen ist, dass das Rohr eigentlich Schweizer Gebiet ist und zwar seit 1593, obwohl es österreichisches Hoheitsgebiet ist.
Achtet bitte darauf, dass vom Parkplatz aus die Grenze überschritten wird, daher muss ein gültiges Ausweispapier mitgeführt werden. Die Grenze muss aber für den Cache nicht unbedingt überschritten werden! Er ist auch aus der Schweiz erreichbar.
Im Sommer kann es bei schönem Wetter hohes Muggelaufkommen geben.

Im 2. Weltkrieg war das Rohr Anlaufstelle für deutsche und österreichische Juden, die Zuflucht in der Schweiz suchten, sozusagen ein "Rohr in die Freiheit".

Der Cache hat folgende Erstausstattung:

Information: The pipe was built to water eduction from Diepoldsau (Switzerland) and to water adjustment of the old rhine. Interesting to know is that the pipe in fact is swiss territory since 1593, although it is austrian sovereign territory.
Please pay attention, that you have to cross the frontier if you take the parking area, so you need to carry a legal identification paper with you You do not have to cross the frontier for the cache! If you like, you can go to the cache from Switzerland.
In the summer time is at nice weather a higher muggle appearance possible.

In world war 2 was the pipe a place to go for german and austrian jews, who has searched asylum in Switzerland, so you can say a "pipe to freedom".

The cache has following basic equipment:

- 2 dinosaurs
- 1 ftf gift
