Geocache Description:

Welcome to Base Camp, Northern Star Council BSA's newest outreach program facility.

Base Camp is a resource for the entire community, serving three primary groups:

* Scouts- after school, evening, and weekend programs
* Schools- educational programs and field trips
*Community groups- non-profit partnerships

It is designed as a place - "Where expeditions begin" - to introduce young people from all communities to the type of activities that are core elements of Scouting and our "learning by doing" approach to non-formal education. Young people of all ages and backgrounds can experience the adventures of Scouting right in the heart of the metro area.

For example, participants will be introduced to climbing on the rock faces inside Base Camp, which are replicas of those at Taylors Falls. They can take this learning to new heights as they confidently experience rock climbing at one of our other camps in the great outdoors.

For 100 years, Scouts have unleashed their confidence, courage and self-esteem by embracing adventure. Now, it's your turn. Base Camp is open to the entire community!

A couple of notes:

Please only park in the designated parking lot. Do not park in the old driveway off Bloomington Road.

This cache is placed on Northern Star Council property with permission. The Base Camp Program Director is aware of it's location. The cache is located in an out of the way location, but please do not search this cache if large groups are nearby.
