RCHS Finds 1000!!! Traditional Geocache

This cache has been archived.

Ronindoc: Gone! :( unless someone else stumbles upon it... It was west of the large tree there, hidden under one of the roots but still pretty easily visible once you were in that area. Bummer! Sorry RCHS...
Requested to archive this one, will archive to make room for more caches.

Monday, July 2, 2007 the name RCHS entered the database of geocaching.com. With a grand idea and the desire to continue spending time outdoors, Bob became an avid geocacher. With his bag of pennies, some paper and a rubber stamp with his signature monogram, he began to work his way to 1000 - he must have had $10 in US pennies, 'cause that's about where he decided to retire. You'll certainly see his pennies in the caches that will fit them, or a hand-drawn red symbol similar to his stamp.

A U.S. Army retiree, he lives in the Minnetonka area and has wiped most of the local map clean of geocaches in the past three years. He also is an avid woodworker - among other things, creating rhombic triacontahedrons out of complex pieces of wood. Some of these are on display at the Minnetonka library, if you're around there sometime. He is also the caretaker of the 300 year old tree near the Minnetonka library near Excelsior and 101. This tree is an impressive display of weathering and other conditions the trees in this area have undergone over the past few hundred years. There's a geocache near this tree that I'd personally recommend you visit - Kelly Park. GCMRER

As another note, he recently bought everyone in the cafe coffee and tea at his recent retirement event, Coffee and Tea...Free
