Birani waterfall / watermill located on gravel road approx. 3km from Madona city. elevation ~158m.
[LV] Biranu dzirnavu udenskritums, saglabajies no bijušajam Biranu udensdzirnavam. Dzirnavas ap 1930 – tajiem gadiem ražojušas elektribu Madonai. No 1923. gada to ipašnieks bijis A. Runka. Šobrid saglabajušas tikai služas, kas veido interesantu udenskritumu uz Aronas upites. Pamesta eka - dzirnavas, pec vietejo baumam 80-90tajos tur planoja izveidot atputas un sporta kompleksu vai ko tamlidzigu, bet vai nu del sliktas buves kvalitates, vai del nestabila pamata un plustošam smiltim, buvniecibu partrauca. Precizaki fakti man nav zinami.
[ENG] Birani waterfall preserved from the former Birani watermill. Mills around 1930th produced electricity for Madona city. From the 1923rd the owner was A. Runka. Now remained only the locks that make up an interesting waterfall in the river Arona. An abandoned building - mills, the local rumors says that in 80-90th there was intended to create a leisure and sports complex or something like that, but either because of poor construction quality, or because of unstable basics and quicksand, construction stopped. Further facts are unknown to me.
IMPORTANT!!! cache location might be dangerous during winter season when its snowy and slippery. It's not recommended to go after the cache in such a conditions, however if you do, then you do it on your own risk!!!
