Geocache Description:

Start at Russell School. Find our other seats first: Mary's Seat; Queen's View Seat; Farmer Stan's Seat. When you head away from Long Beach you can rest on the seat by the cemetery. No find there! Follow the footpath back to Mrs Woodcock's Seat.

Mrs Woodcock was a teacher at Russell School. She lived in the house behind the seat for 64 years. When Mrs Woodcock passed away she was 97 years old, and had lived in Russell for 76 years. The children from Russell school used to go down to her house every November 2 to sing "Happy Birthday" to her. Mrs Woodcock was a foundation member of the Russell Saint John. Her family also owned the Back Four Square building, until it was sold in 2010. The seat has been made from the old power poles that held the old transformer. It was made by one of her sons, who now lives in the house. There is no need to go into the garden to search for the cache. NO TBs here as the cache is a nano bolt. Please bring your own pen.
