Geocache Description:

The cache is hidden at Eglish old church and graveyard, it is a micro and is placed just outside the boundary of the graveyard, you can drive up the lane, there is plenty of room to park at the gates.

The old church was built in 1720 as a chapel of ease and was replaced in 1821 by the new church at Drumsallan, only the west wall is left standing, in the churchyard there are the fragments of two ring-headed crosses about 1000 years old, of the south cross only a portion of the head remains; it is mounted on a plinth, there are a few gravestones that date from the 18th century, but the inscriptions are hardly legible.
