Hitch-In Yer Giddy-Up Traditional Geocache

This cache has been archived.

e5c4p3artist: The cache disappeared one day and I intended to replace it. But in retrospect, this is a nice landmark, but not a very good area overall to hide a cache, so I'm archiving this and will find a better spot. The landmark is a rock inscribed with the name GRAY and a late 1800's date that has an iron ring embedded in it that was used as a hitching post.

How Geocaching Works

Please note Use of geocaching.com services is subject to the terms and conditions in our disclaimer.

Geocache Description:

A horse walked into a bar and the bartender said, "Why the long face?"

Accessible year round at day or night, this park-and-grab micro is not in a super-high-muggle area, but there are nearby houses and, during the day, there are often city vehicles parked close by, so use common sense when hunting.

This is not a nano.

Please re-hide the cache exactly as found unless you suspect it was out of place. In which case, hide it better and post a log or alert the cache owner.

It is fine to post pictures that show the general area and/or include the cache container, but please do not post pictures that reveal the cache hiding spot.

There should be a writing utensil in the cache, but bring your own to be safe. Be sure to sign the log to receive credit for the find. Online logs may be deleted if the physical log is not signed.

The cache is hidden on city property with easy parking nearby. Permission was granted by the Robins City Council; in fact they suggested the location.

Ms. Maxfield, an elderly lady, has lived in the house nearest the cache since 1952. Maxfield Lane was named after her and her late husband. She is aware of the cache but is under strict orders not to reveal the hiding spot! She has a habit of approaching me to talk when I am performing maintenance, so be warned that the same may happen to cache hunters if you see her outside.
