Geocache Description:

A quick cache and dash for the busy rail commuter, originally opened in 1858, closed by Dr Beeching in 1960.

Outwood railway station is situated in the Outwood district of Wakefield in West Yorkshire, England.

Outwood is the first stop on the Wakefield Line 7.5 miles (12 km) after Leeds for trains going towards Wakefield Westgate, Doncaster and Sheffield.

The station was opened on 12 July 1988 and is near the site of the former Lofthouse and Outwood station which was closed on 13 June 1960.
