Geocache Description:

A small cache with a few things to swap, a coin, a log book and a ftf prize.

Putnam County is just loaded with small town and small county history. Its one of the smallest counties in NY but offers some of the greatest views, hikes, trails and campsites around and we're lucky enough to live locally and enjoy them as often as we can! Historically, some of the sites around the county aren't easily noticeable and may take some searching out. Some, like this one, stand right out yet we drive or bike so fast that we sometimes forget to turn our heads and appreciate them. Take an afternoon at some point to look into and learn more about the historical significance of the road and town names of our surroundings, you'll be impressed. Read about a name, building, church, an intersection, etc. Since this is a fairly easy find, and the historical significance is fairly obvious, I thought the solution to finding the coords to the actual should take a little effort. In order to play fair, however, all the information you should need to find the coords for this landmark are posted on this page, so take a minute to look into it before venturing out because the posted coords will only help you get nearby.
