Co to vlastně ta oranžérie je? Oranžérie je druh skleníku nebo stavby, který je určen především k pěstování citrusu, ale i jiných subtropických rostlin. Oranžérie vznikaly v zemích mírného pásu ve středověku, postupem času pak byly nahrazeny skleníky, které mají mnohem komplexnější funkci shromažďující daleko širší spektrum rostlin. Oranžérie vznikaly nejprve na dvorech šlechticů, postupně se pak šířily i na pozemky různých institucí, jako botanických společností, škol ci ústavů. Jedna taková bývalá oranžérie by se našla i v Jindřichově Hradci v terasové zahradě... A právě tam vás zavede tato keš! V areálu zahrady pod kostelem Jana Křtitele se nachází i studna, o které málokdo ví. Jak je známo, lidé do studen házejí mince, aby je potkalo štěstí. I vy si můžete do studny vhodit drobák pro štěstí. Když se posadíte na některou z laviček v zahradě, naskytne se vám krásný pohled na vajgarský ostrůvek (kde je mimochodem také keška). Zastavte se na chvíli a pokochejte se. Objekt je bývalou oranžérií a je ve vlastnictví města. Pokud navštívíte i nějakou z výstav v Minoritském klášteře, který se nachází za Oranžérií, budete mít příležitost podívat se do zahrady z jiného úhlu - z velkého okna v klášteře. POZOR! ZAHRADA SE NA NOC ZAMYKA! Místo v zahradě, kde je keška malé velikosti schovaná je dobře přístupné, rozhodně nepodnikejte žádné horolezecké pokusy! Vlevo za zahradní zdí se nachazí několika metrová propadlina na parkoviště, proto vás ještě jednou vyzýváme, abyste nelezli tam, kam nemáte! !THE GARDEN IS CLOSED IN THE NIGHT!
