Geocache Description:

Formally - The Cotton Cache - but now part of the Church Micro Series.

A short cache and dash taking in the Cotton Methodist Church and some lovely views of Mid-Suffolk on a public footpath located next to the church. The trodden path would be a bit bumpy for buggys but it does widen about halfway along.

The cache is a simple offset, (two stage multi), as there is no good hiding place available immediately around the church.

The listed co-ordinates are just outside the church grounds.
There is parking for a couple of cars opposite the church next to the telephone kiosk.

You will need to read the Memorial Stone embeded in the church wall in order to gather the simple information required for the off-set cache location.

The number of letters in the First name = A. The number of letters in the Surname = B.

The cache is hidden at :

N52 15.(A)(B+3)(A+2)

E001 01.(B-3)(B)(A-B)

The cache is a click-fast 1 Litre plastic container in camo bag and at the time of placing contained:

Logbook, Pencil & Sharpener
First To Find Badge
TRAVELLING MATT- Travel Bug Dog Tag
Squeeker Balloon, Bouncy Ball, Parachutist, Brass Candle Stick, Rubber, Shopping Trolly Token, UK Teddy Bear.

SOME INFO:
Cotton Methodist Chapel is located alongside the B1113 road that seperates the villages of Cotton and Bacton.
Methodism came to Cotton when some local people returned after hearing some of Rev John Wesleys preachers in Diss in 1779.
At first meetings were held in a cottage, then in a barn until a chapel was built on the present site in 1814 with three galleries around the building.
When that became too small for the population it was demolished and the present building erected for £1000 in 1877.

If anyone would like to expand this Church Micro numbered series please do. Please contact sadexploration via www.geocaching.com so that he can keep track of the church numbers and names to avoid duplication.
