Klövasten
Om man kör från Ystad mot Glemminge ser man ute i
åkern en stor och mäktig sten kluven i två delar. Denna sten kallas
Klövasten och är ett minne från istiden. Men varför finns de här,
hur har de kommit hit? Man undrar, man frågar. De har alla en sak
gemensamt: de har kommit långväga ifrån. Isen var deras tåg. I
folktron finns det olika sägner om hur den kommit dit. "En
trollkäring från Bornholm tyckte sig höra klockklangen från
Glemminge kyrka. Den tålde hon inte. Hon tog sitt strumpeband, band
detta om en jättestor sten och slungade denna mot kyrkan i
Glemminge. Men solen höll just på att stiga upp på himlen.
Trollkärringen tålde inte solen och kraften i hennes arm avtog. Det
blev inget bra kast. Stenen hamnade en bit från kyrkan.
Strumpebandet drogs åt vid kastet, så att stenen klövs mitt
itu.
För att logga cachen som funnen
måste du svara på följande frågor:
1. Hur bred uppskattar du
sprickans bredd genom stenen?
2. Hur tjock beräknas inlandsisen
ha varit över södra Sverige som mest under den senaste
istiden?
3. Vilken bergart består stenen
av?

If you drive from
Ystad to Glemminge look out in the field there is a great and
powerful rock split in two. This stone is called Klövasten and is a
remnant of the Ice Age. But why are they here, how did they come
here? One wonders, you ask. They all have one thing in common: they
have come from far away. The ice was their trains. In folklore,
there are various legends about how it got there. "A witch from
Bornholm seemed to hear the bell ringing from Glemminge church. She
couldn´t stand it. She took her garters, strap this on a huge stone
and hurled it against the church in Glemminge. But the sun was just
getting up in the sky. Troll Old Lady tolerated not the power of
the sun and slowed down her arm. It was not a good throw. The stone
fell away from church. The garter was to tightened in, so that the
stone was split in two pieces.
To log the cache as found, you must answer
the following questions:
1st How wide do you estimate the crack width
through the stone?
2nd What was the calculated maximum thickness of
the ice over South Sweden during the last ice
age?
3rd What type of rock is the stone composed
of?
