Geocache Description:

This cache has been months in the making, but this afternoon Munchkin #2 and I finally made it happen. It's not entirely clear what the delay is, but syncing up our free time was actually pretty hard! I'm starting to wonder if we've overscheduled our kids...

Nevertheless, today was beautiful and neither one of us had other obligations, so we set out to scout a location and take some readings. The Munchkin immediately christened this spot "Big Picnic Rock" because it would be a perfect place to sit and enjoy a picnic lunch - or, in our case today, some ice cream, granola bars and lemonade. When she learned that the spot is more formally known as "Mount Tom" she decided to rename it "Picnic Tom", and so that's what we're going with.

Local history maintains that Edgar Allen Poe used to sit atop Mount Tom half a century before Riverside Park even existed, and stare at the Hudson for hours on end. You should do the same - the view from here is phenomenal.

You are looking for a small black waterproof container containing a few trade items hand-picked from Munchkin #2's personal collection. Please stay out of the nearby flowerbeds when hunting - the local gardening community is experimenting with a "no fences" philosophy, but it's dependent on people respecting their boundaries. The cache is not located within the gardening areas.
