Geocache Description:

This is a great multi use trail along the Kennebec River from Solon to Bingham. It can be explored by bike, ATV, snowmobile, horse, X-Country Ski, dogsled, or by hiking. The trail is relatively flat and extends 6 miles from the parking coordinates to RTE 201. The trail extends another .5 miles on the opposite side of RTE 201. None of the caches were placed beyond the 201 crossing. If you don’t want to travel the 12 miles round trip you can place a second vehicle at RTE 201 Crossing.

Caches vary in size so pay attention to the cache page. Most of the caches are straight forward hides while a few present a few challenges. Watch the cache page for any notes. One of the caches along this trail system has a FTF prize equal to the number of caches hidden. Some of the caches will be winter friendly and some are not. Watch the cache page to determine whether it might be available during the winter. All of the caches were placed by bike. There is one other cache on the trail and at the nearby dam which you want to explore while in the area.

Parking: The coordinates and your auto GPS will want to take you on the road to nowhere. Turn off RTE 201 in Solon on to Falls Rd. Keep to the right. You will come to a large ATV area where you can park near where the trail begins.

Above all else look at this as an opportunity to explore the beauty of then Kennebec River and pick up a few caches along the way. Good Luck!
