Using the various
trails and old farm roads available; you should choose a route from
the parking lot to the area of the cache. By trails, the shortest
route to the cache is over a half-mile. If you take another route,
the walk will be considerably longer. If you find yourself on
the wrong trail; please backtrack, don't bushwack or walk on steep
slopes.
For variety, try a
different route back to the parking lot. Take some time to enjoy
the natural beauty of this park. You could see deer, red fox,
snakes, and many different types of birds. In March and early April
you may see the courtship dance of woodcocks in the meadow South of
the farm road (beyond the pond). In the Summer the fields of
wildflowers attract many butterflies.
The Murrysville
Trail Alliance is developing and maintaining the trails in PV Park.
Help is needed in this effort. In 2010 volunteers meet at the
parking lot thursdays at 6:30 PM during Spring and Summer to work
on Trails . Please join us!

Take care when
entering or leaving the parking lot since vehicles travel fairly
fast on Pleasant Valley Rd..
