Kanepju ozols - otrais resnakais dižozols Latvija un Baltija,
kura apkartmers ir 9,4m. Tas atrodas Strencu novada 1,8km no
Jercenu centra pie Kanepju majam. Vainaga projekcija - 19m,
augstums 17m, vecums aptuveni 450 gadi. XIX.gs vai varbut vel agrak
ozolu gandriz iznicinajis zibens, tacu tas sacis atjaunoties
stumbra dienvidu puse. Vel tagad 3,5m plata nedzivas koksnes reta
redzama stumbra ziemelu puse. Pec speriena ozola stumbrs un vainags
audzis tikai viena puse. Ozolam ir milzigs dobums, kura var
novietoties 8-12 cilveki. Dobuma uz nedzivas koksnes ir iegrebti
daudzi iniciali. Vecakais ir gadu skaitlis no 1886.g., kas liecina,
ka zibens speriens ir noticis pirms tam. Dobuma iegrebts ari blakus
esošo „Kanepju” maju saimnieka vards N.Cirulis

Kanepju ozols is the second largest secular oak tree in Latvia
and Baltic states with a perimeter of 9,4m. It is located in
Strencu region 1,8km from the centre of Jerceni near house
„Kanepji”. The projection of crown- 19m, height- 17m,
age – around 450 years. In XIX century (or maybe later) the
tree was almost destroyed by a lightning strike, however, it
started regenerating at the south side of the bole. Even now a 3,5m
wide scar can be seen on the north side of the bole. After this
strike the oak tree and the crown are growing only on one side. The
oak tree has a huge hollow, where 8 to 12 people can be located. In
the hollow there are many initials carved into the wood. The oldest
date is from 1886, which tells us that the lightning strike
happened before that. In the hollow you can also find the
host’s name of a nearby house „Kanepji”-

Piebraukt var 20m no ozola (masinu erti atstat pirms pirmas
ekas). Nav sunu un tas neatrodas privata teritorija, lai gan netalu
