Kaakamo on noin 1000 asukkaan kylä. Kätkö sijaitsee vanhan Kaakamon alueella meren rannalla. Kätkön lähellä on uimaranta. Kaakamo is a village of about 1000 people. This cache is located in the old part of Kaakamo, by the seaside. There is a place for swimming near the cache site.
Kaakamon kylä sijaitsee puolimatkassa Torniosta Kemiin ja kuuluu Torniolle. Niemipirtti löytyy Alakaakamosta, tarkemmin Kaakamoniemestä. Tässä kohtaa joet virtaavat Perämereen. Venäjän vallan aikana (1809 - 1917) Kaakamojoki toimi valtakunnanrajana Ruotsiin. 1800-luvulla rakennettu Niemipirtti aittoineen toimivat kalastajien asemapaikkana, missä he voivat viettää aikaa ja korjata työkalujaan verkkojen kokemisen välillä. Niemipirtti sits in the seaside part of Kaakamo, Kaakamoniemi, in the point where rivers flow into the Bothnian Bay. Kaakamo river functioned as the border between Russia and Sweden when Finland was part of the Russian Empire (1809 - 1917). Built in the 1800s, Niemipirtti was a base for fishermen, serving as a place to spend time and repair their tools between trips to the sea to search their nets.
