Geocache Description:

Placed in 2001 and the first physical physical cache in the country! Going to Guatemala, bring your GPS. This was the first one in Guatemala, but not the last I hope. You get to see some of the most impressive Maya-sites if you take this cache. There might be a small entrance fee.

(Flores / Tikal)

This cache was placed in the stone age of geocaching and well before the rule of vacation/maintained caches.

HELPING out would render a gold star, a thought in the GC-heaven, a mention and a cold beer in Sweden if you ever go hunting there! MANY thanks in advance /buda

Original listing: "This is our first cache (and also the first physical one in the country) in Guatemala. Visiting the beautiful city of Flores is a dream. You will probably make a trip to the "ruins" one of your days here? Bring your GPS then and take the canopy tour on your own :)
For nice lodging in Flores, try the upper new rooms at the Villa De Lago, a bargain for 150 Q with TV, air-con and nice view of the lake (2001).
We had too little time to spend here, sad to say, we “must” move on to Belize tomorrow and then in a couple of weeks go back to Sweden, Europe."

The original cache canister is (from 2001) a small tupperware containing a logbook pen and some other items.

BRING LOOOOOOOTS OF WATER!!! This might be a H-O-T place!!!!

* * PLEASE REHIDE IN A WAY THAT PROTECTS THE CACHE FROM BEING MUGGLED BY THE COATIS (raccon animal) * *

Please help me MAINTAIN this very old cache, the only physical (2001) in Guatemala. IF you have the chance of helping me out in the area you will become my new HERO!!!

Updated 2012: "GPSMartyx" helped me to restore this one. Now its a container again. The original hiding place was a large tree. But now it's over TEN years ago I was there so the tree might be fallen down... ;)
THANKS to: G-O-CACHERS and then NLT for helping out
