Geocache Description:

Pekna prochazka
A nice walk

Timprinutila reku teci chvili rovne bez meandru. V tomto miste pak vznikl jiz za davnych casu bezpecny brod, ktereho vyuzivaly pocetna stada zvere (pry dokonce i mamutu) ale i cetne valecne i obchodni vypravy. Vychozi souradnice ukazuji prave na misto stareho brodu pres reku Moravu.
Reka vsak take prinasela kazdorocni problemy, ktere temer kazdy rok pusobily povodne, byly konecne vyreseny roku 1906, kdyz moravske mistodrzitelstvi povolilo regulaci reky Moravy pod Belovem, Otrokovicemi a v Napajedlich. Hornomoravský uval se tahne od Libiny po Napajedla a Dolnomoravsky uval pokracuje dale k jihu a navazuje na Vídenskou panev. Honomoravsky uval zahrnuje oblast narodopisne oblasti Hana, zatim co Dolnomoravsky uval zahrnuje Moravske Slovacko. A prave u Napajedel lezi rozhrani mezi obema oblastmi.

Rock-forming processes in the Tertiary era have created a long cut straggling from the North to the South-East of Czech republic. The Morava river made use of this new cut and displaced it´s watershed there which originally steered for Brno. It is necessary to remark that the river has given name to the whole East part of Czech republic with exception of Silesia in the North.
Presumably, due to a little ground slope the river has created numerous meanders and swampland with exception of one place of it´s course at Napajedla. Here the valley is getting narrow into a narrow part – Napajedla´s gate. Thereby the river has been forced to flow straight without any meander. Then in this place has arisen a safe wade in the past, used by numerous bevies (reportedly even by mammoths) but also by crusades and trade expeditions. The starting coordinates just point to the place of the old wade across the river Morava.
The river used to bring yearly problems caused by floods nearly each year. The problems have been finally solved in 1906 when the Moravian proconsulate granted a canalization of the river Morava below Belov, Otrokovice and Napajedla.
The Uppermoravian ravine stretches from Libina to Napajedla and the Lowermoravian ravine continues further to the South and links up to Viennese field (basin). The Uppermoravian ravine includes the ethnical region Haná, while the Lowermoravian ravine includes the Moravian Slovakia. And just at Napajedla there is the boundary line between the both regions.
