Das Stuttgarter Travertinvorkommen ist einzigartig in
Deutschland.
Die im Bad Cannstatter Neckartal und unteren Nesenbachtal
verbreiteten Travertinschichten sind während der Warmzeiten des
Eiszeitalters (Pleistozän) und in der Nacheiszeit (Holozän)
entstanden.
Nachschub an Mineralsalzen.

The former quarry in Bad Cannstatt in which stone processing
equipment introduces the industry history of Stuttgart is the first
park of this type in Stuttgart.
Over many decades the travertine which lines up in this place in
the ground was dismantled. He adorns important buildings in the
world e.g. the Staatsgalerie in Stuttgart.
The Stuttgart travertine occurrence is unique Germany. These in
the Bad Cannstatt Neckarvalley and lower Nesenbachvalley spread
Travertine layers are during the warm times of this one Ice age
(Pleistozän) and arose in the after-ice age (Holozän).
The oldest occurrences reach in the geological history to
500,000 years back.
The travertine is a yellow-brown till ocher stone, this one
himself for 500,000 years in the headwaters of the Stuttgart
mineral water been educational has. The mineral water contains,

relaxed are. As soon as it the carbonic acid, this one under
pressure, treads the earth's surface, evaporates celebration
substances are eliminated and store themselves as innumerable
solved small crystals in layers about each other.
The second greatest mineral water deposit since the provincial
capital Stuttgart in Europe has, the numerous mineral sources
provide with a output of 500 liter per second or 44 million liter
per day for one permanent Supplies of mineral salts. These are 60
tons daily today. In this Course of the last 500,000 years at the
warm times of the Pleistozäns, powerful travertine benches could by
secretions so arising.
