We’ve been belting around all over Timor-Leste throwing out Geocaches like there was no tomorrow…….”What about something closer to home”, we wondered?????
So here is a Geocache that you can find in an hour or two, if you live in Dili that is……and can come along the beach to the Comorro river mouth and do just a little exploring....
Dili bustles it’s merry way, guarded by two religious statues at each end of the city. To the east, out at Creisto Rei, the world’s second highest statue of Jesus stares out across the bay, that stare returned by Pope John Paul II atop of his hill, beside a fine new church out beyond Tasi Tolu, to the west of the city.
In between and therefore well guarded, sits our home, Killer Hill, which is on the beach, near the mouth of the Comorro river.
Our trail starts at the end of the road which runs from the Pertamina tank Farm on Pantai Kelapa, along the beach, to the mouth of the Comorro River.

Here you will find the long retaining wall recently built to stop local flooding whenever the Comorro is in spate. Up river, the broken skeleton of an old Indonesian era church is a jagged reminder of this country's violent history and the endless swaith of traffic crossing the Comorro bridge gives insight into it's new growth and prosperity.
Out to sea you will see Jesus on guard and, as often as not, ships at anchor awaiting their turn to moor at Dili's congested wharf.
To find our cache walk eastwards, back towards the city, along the dirt and then bitumen road. Count the number of cement pillars along the roadside (Timorese just LOVE to build walls!). When you get to 59, STOP!
Five paces inland you'll find our cache!
