Unikátní zarízení, které je posledním svého druhu v Cesku,
mužete zaregistrovat pri ceste z Vrchlabí do Trutnova. Nad
hlavami uvidíte lana se zavešenými vozíky a pod nimi
bezpecnostní sít nad silnicí. Z vápence se v Kuncicích delají mleté
vápence pro odsírení elektráren a vápencový písek pro výrobu
suchých omítkových a maltových smesí.
Lanovka prepraví za smenu cca 800 tun vápence. Celková délka
lanovky postavené v letech 1959 až 1963 je 8,35 kilometru. Na
celé trase z Cerného Dolu do Kuncic je 49 podper a na nosném lane
jezdí cca 250 vozíku. Nejvyšší podpera merí 42 metru.
Kvuli snadnejší údržbe a výmene nosných lan je lanovka
rozdelena do osmi úseku. Doba jízdy z jedné stanice do druhé je asi
45 minut. Celou lanovku obsluhuje pet lidí, tri na nakládce v lomu
a dva na vykládce v Kuncicích.
Proc "Ekologická" lanovka ?
Zajímavostí lanovky je, že ke svému
chodu nepotrebuje prakticky žádnou energii, protože
funguje na spádovém systému. Z výse polozeného lomu jedoucí vozíky
naplnené vápencem "pretahují" lehcí prázdné vozíky smerující od
níze polozených Kuncic. Pouze k prvnímu rozjetí se pouzije
elektromotor. Ten pak slouzí jako brzda a zároven vyrábí elektrinu
pro cást zarízení lomu. Kdyby vápenec do Kuncic mela vozit nákladní
auta, velmi by to zatízilo zivotní prostredí v okolních
podkrkonosských obcích.

You may notice this unique system, which is the last of its kind in
Czechia, on your way from Vrchlabí to Trutnov. Above your head you
can see telphers suspended from ropes and a safety net beneath them
above the road. In Kuncice, milled limestone for desulphurisation
of power plants and limestone sand for the production of
ready-mixed plaster and mortar mix are made of limestone.
The cableway transports approximately 800 tons of limestone per one
shift. The cableway was built within the years 1959 - 1963 and its
total length is 8.35 km. There are 49 supports along the whole
cableway line leading from Cerný Dul to Kuncice, and about 250
telphers go on the carrying cable. The height of the highest
support is 42 metres. The cableway is divided into eight sections,
which makes maintenance and exchange of carrying cables easier. The
time of limestone transport from one station into another is about
45 minutes. The cableway is operated by five people, three of them
are in the loading station in the quarry and two of them are in the
unloading station in Kuncice.
Why "Ecological" cableway?
An interesting fact about this cableway
is the fact that it almost does not need any power for its
operation because it works on the gravity system. Telphers filled
with limestone and going from the quarry which is located higher
"pull" lighter empty telphers going from Kuncice which is situated
in a lower spot. An electromotor is needed only for starting the
telphers up. This motor then serves as a brake and at the same time
it produces electricity for a part of the quarry's equipment. If
the limestone was transported to Kuncice by lorries, it would have
bad effect on the environment in surrounding villages in the
foothill of the Krkonoše Mountains.

"Stara dama" ktera vas zavede k teze lanovce, ale o cca 3 km
nize. POZOR, tato cache NENI soucasti multicache OKOLIM LOMU, ale
velmi dobre ji doplnuje.
I would recommend to visit mystery cache,
"Stara dama" which will lead you to the same cableway and the
distance is approx. 3 km. ATTENTION, this cache IS NOT a part of
multicache OKOLIM LOMU but it is a very good supplementation of
it.
