Geocache Description:

Located at Wolfpit Mountain preserve. Park your chariot at the above coordinates off of Henry Sanford Rd.

The Cache of the Titans (C.O.T.T.) is a series of 7 expert level caches that will be released each week. They are designed to test your skill, smarts, stamina, and maybe your patience. They will take you to the towns of New Milford, Kent, Gaylordsville, Roxbury, and Washington. These caches are in no way affiliated with the classic movie of a similar name, or the trainwreck of a remake in 2010.

King Geonitis and his brave Spartans had been trapped in the hills for days. Running low on supplies and provisions he prayed to the goddess Athena for guidance. Athena, hearing his plea but not being one to just give anyone something, decided to test his cleverness. “ There is a treasure located not far from here” she said, “but to find it you’ll have to solve a riddle.” On Mount Olympus I have stabled three zephyr mares, Podagros, Lampon, and Xanthos. The product of their ages when multiplied together is 36. The sum of their ages when added is the same as today’s date this month.” Geonitis checked is wrist sundial and saw it was Smarchtober XZ. He scratched his beard for a moment and tried to recall what his father had taught him about the zephyr mares. He remembered being told they had once belonged to a giant named Diomedes, and had been stolen by Hercules. They were only born on the summer solstice each year. That they were twice the size of a normal horse and could run 10,000 leagues in a single day. He began to scratch figures and numbers in the dirt with the point of his sword. Slowly it was coming to him but then… no something was missing. He said” forgive me for questioning you your highness but that doesn’t tell me their ages.” Athena didn’t like to be challenged, but had to admit the mortal was correct. “Very well then, Xanthos, my youngest mare, has a mane as red as the fires of Hades. Geonitis smiled as he had all the information he needed. He thanked the goddess and turned on his Greek Positioning System.
