Eglise fortifiée de Lorry-Mardigny"

FRANCAIS
arcature lorraine, clocher carré);
tympan trilobé ;
surhaussement de l'ensemble de l'édifice);
- 1895 : ajout de la nef latérale sud.

ENGLISH
The church Ste-Croix of Lorry - Mardigny
It was the church-mother of the parish of Lorry - Mardigny,
the only one in whom it was possible to celebrate masses sung of
holidays, christenings, marriages and funerals, until the XVIIIth
century. So, again and again, they felt the need to extend it so
that she could welcome all parishioners.
As Lorry-Mardigny was located, in the Middle Ages, on the border of
the messin Country with the Lorraine dukedoms, the church Ste-Croix
was strengthened.
She is dated from the XIIth century from some architectural
elements.
It is possible to differentiate four stages in the building
of this church of which three are visible on plan on the
soil:
- in the XIIth century: a small church (nave power station, apse in
arcature Lorraine, square bell tower);
- in the XIIIth century: addition of nave lateral north and of its
door with tympanum trilobé;
- the from XIVth century till XVIth century: fortification of the
church (round tower and surhaussement of the whole building);
- On 1895: addition of nave lateral south.
