Geocache Description:

Recommended parking at N 42 08.845, W 088 04.453 (this is INSIDE the park...enter park from Quentin Road between Dundee and Lake-Cook Roads).

Hidden on Thanksgiving Day, 2001. The container is up off the ground, so treasure hunters should be able to find this tupperware cache throughout the winter.

I've left a disposable camera, so photograph yourselves and I'll eventually post the pictures on-line.

Also left 4 scratch-off lottery tickets (2 from Illinois and 2 from Arizona), so good luck to the first one to find this cache!

UPDATE 30-Oct-2005: I did "cache maintenance" today, and found that after neary 4 years and over 150 visitors the "snag" has started to crumble. With winter coming, I found an excellent nearby hiding spot that will continue to be somewhat protected and findable year-around. I have updated the "Hint" below. I did NOT change the coordinates, but I only moved the cache box about 20-feet. Left a new camera (take your own photo), and left a Halloween toy and 2 scratch-off Lottery tickets. Good Luck!

UPDATE 18-Jun-2017 (Father's Day): Several people were unable to find the cache and reported it likely missing...so I replaced it with a new Tupperware box! I also moved it to a new, improved nearby location (and updated the coordinates). There is some new "treasure" left in the box for the first couple of cachers who find the relocated "Cache in a Snag." Trail map found at: http://www.fpdcc.com/downloads/dg_trailmap.pdf

UPDATE 01-Jan-19 (New Year's Day): Cache maintenance! There had been some problem with coordinates, and someone moved the cache box from the site and hide it somewhere else...I couldn't find it when I was here Christmas Day, so I replaced it with a new box. Left some new "treasure" in the cache box to motivate the next cachers. Snow on the ground today, but this site should be fine through then entire winter. Yes...there IS a water crossing to get to this site!

UPDATE 26-Dec-20: Cache maintenance! Some recent controlled burns were conducted in the area and the prior cache box went missing sometime late October/early November. My apologies to the several cache hunters who were recently blanked, but I have placed a new box in the old location. I seeded the new box with a lottery ticket...so good luck to the first one to find the new box.
