Driven ’Round the Bend #1 Traditional Geocache

This cache has been archived.

LavaLizard: As there's been no cache to find for months, I'm archiving it to keep it from continually showing up in search lists, and to prevent it from blocking other cache placements.

If the cache owner addresses the issues that lead to archival and contacts me within a reasonable period of time (6-8 weeks), it may be possible to unarchive the cache.

Geocache Description:

Breaking my own rule for a three-way play on words.

Normally, I would avoid adding to newly published cache placements, but after having heard nary a word of congratulations on FTF'ing Just Around the Bend #1–10, nor any mention of, oh, by the way, I put 5 more up there that aren't listed yet, and finally, having my perfect place purloined even after my warning of the bees in residence, I figured the rules are out the window. Even if they are, admittedly, my own peculiar interpretation and not strictly codified as such by TPTB.
So here you are then. One more, just to be obstreperous. Or, more accurately, obstinate. Or maybe obdurate is the word I want. Or, objectionable. Obviously.

Anyway. Considering the copious amounts of water that must have been required to turn this parched landscape green, the steepness of the cart paths, the relentlessly blistering summer heat, and the paucity of mad dogs and Englishmen bonkers enough to venture forth in said inferno, as well as the frequency with which real firestorms swept through here, it's not hard to imagine that this was a business doomed to failure before it began. Wonder how many of our tax dollars went into this money pit. Area still shows plenty of evidence of the hydromulch sprayed after the fires to stabilise the soil and prevent erosion.
Cache is a former biscuit tin, slightly camouflaged, If you use a modicum of care, it's possible to navigate completely on concrete until ten feet from the cache. I wouldn't recommend parking in the playground lot, as I don't know how rigidly the parking restrictions are enforced. Street parking is not too far away in any case, which should be safe enough.

Congratulations to Digitalfuzz on the speedy FTF.
