Geocache Description:

The cache is a long 35mm and camouflaged and when placed, contained only a log book- bring your own pen/pencil. I have given it a 3.5 for terrain, sorry guys definately not suitable for wheelchairs.From park to the cache is along a busy main road with no footpath or you may wish to walk along a very bouldery sea shore. You can park closer if cycling. The last 50mts is over rough ground with a very steep incline at the end. Good sturdy footware and a head for heights is essential.

Park at N54.54.012 W005 51.096 and pick up the Ballygally Bay cache if you havent already done so.

Please take extra care if accessing this at a time of high tide , especially in a northerly wind as it can become an island!

The local Parish of Cairncastle.' Castle On The Cairn' is named after this castle on the rocks. Its approx 16ft square and built by the Anglo Normans in the early 13th century. But very little remains now of the castle, sometimes referred to as O''Hallorans Castle

But take a look at the views out to sea, and keep a watchful eye for porpoise,and other sea mammals, cormorant and shags who frequent this shoreline.
