Deze zoektocht van iets meer dan 10km lang brengt je langs een gans aantal kasseiwegen. Ook kleine voetwegen komen aan bod, bij uitzondering eens een mooie effen weg (weinig verkeer), wees dus voorbereid op modder na regenweer.
Be prepared for a 10km longue journey over cobblestone paths and dirtroads (can be quite muddy), besides some regular (low traffic) roads.

De bedoeling van deze wandeling is je kennis te laten maken met de mooie streek rond Beersel en in het bijzonder de vele overgebleven kasseiwegen.
Het is in eerste instantie een lange (ongeveer 10km) wandeling, maar afhankelijk van het weer moet deze multicache ook wel doenbaar zijn met de fiets.
Met de wagen kom je best via de Donderveldstraat. In de honderd meter voor de start is er (beperkte) parkeermogelijkheid (zie foto 00). Een echte parking vindt je een eindje verder op het waypoint PR.
Anderzijds kan je (via het station van Halle of Buizingen) de bus tot aan de halte 'LOT KERKHOFSTRAAT' nemen.
Alle coordinaten zijn opgegeven/te berekenen in de charmantere DMS (graden°minuten'seconden") notatie. Zo wordt de bovenstaande coordinaat (in MinDec) van deze cache N50° 45' 8.4" E4° 18' 4.8" in de DMS notatie.
De DMS notatie geraakte wat in onbruik na de opkomst van de GPS systemen die standaard vanaf de minuten op het tientallig stelsel overschakelen, maw graden (Degrees) en minuten (Minutes) waar dan meestal tot op 1 duizendste precies genoteerd wordt: DD° MM.MMM". GeoCaching.com geeft de DMS coordinaten weer ook met 3 cijfers na de komma voor de seconden: DD° MM" SS.SSS'.
Hieronder ga ik uit van 2 cijfers na de komma (maw ik gebruik een precisie van hondersten van seconden), aangezien dit nog altijd 6 keer preciezer dan duizendsten van minuten.
Gewone GPS systemen laten meestal maar tienden van seconden toe (DD° MM" SS.S'), rond dus af indien uw GPS toestel in dit geval is. Voor diegenen die zelf omrekenen naar de DegMin notatie zijn die hondersten van seconden wel relevant, die ronden pas af na de conversie. Probeer zo'n omzetting van DMS op voorhand eens uit om zeker te zijn dat je omrekenmethode voor onderweg wel klopt.
Tussenliggende waypoints zijn optioneel: Ze moeten het mogelijk maken om de bedoelde weg te volgen zonder een kaart bij te hebben: Kijk goed uit bij elk kruispunt (ook met kleinste voetwegen!) volg de optie die het best aansluit met de richting die de GPS aangeeft.
Een handig hulpmiddel kan een rekenmachine zijn. De te zoeken coördinaten zijn hiermee gemakkelijker uit te rekenen (en eventueel om te zetten indien de DMS notatie niet door je GPS ondersteund wordt).
Een prikstok kan van pas komen om de stash te vinden. Mijn fotos zijn alvast gebundeld in een pagina om snel af te drukken , de fotos downloaden op een smartphone of digitale camera kan natuurlijk ook...
Indien je de hints gebruikt zul je niet veel tijd verliezen aan de waypoints. Anderzijds zou ik graag weten (log) of je de cache kon vinden zonder de hints te gebruiken!
Begin dus op de coördinaten bovenaan deze pagina en vervolledig de volgende reeks:

Noteer de cijfers die corresponderen met A, B en C. Hiermee kan je alvast waypoint 1 vinden, maar ook later komen deze cijfers van pas.
Zoek op deze manier een waarde voor alle letters tot P (zonder E en N die gebruikt worden in de notatie). Elke letterwaarde bestaat uit 1 cijfer, oplossingen vanaf 10 'reduceer' je door de stapelsom te nemen, vb. 12340 wordt zo 1 (eerst 1+2+3+4+0=10, dan 1+0=1).
Begin augustus 2015 bracht Rildera een reeks online die voor een groot deel overeenkomt met deze multi: Zorg dus dat je de fotos hier meehebt als je die reeks loopt (1 foto is zelfs gemeenschappelijk met de foto van zijn bonus cache!). Beiden zijn zeer complementair: Gemakkelijke trads tov. deze toch wel omslachtige multi... ;)
This multicache is a rather long walk (10km) covering all kinds of cobblestone roads Belgium is supposed to be famous for. Rest of the roads vary from dirtroads (can be quite muddy) to regular (low traffic) roads. The walk remains inside the commune of Beersel, avoiding busy roads, bringing you through the fields, some woods and a small village.
The start can be reached by train, from the stations of Halle and Buizingen, a bus will bring you in 5 minutes of the start (busstop 'LOT KERKHOFSTRAAT'). By car you should come via 'Donderveldstraat' and park your car on the side of the road (see photo 00) or on the additional parking space (see waypoint) located less then 1km away.
All coordinates are given/calculated in DMS (degrees° minutes' seconds"). The DMS coordinates N50° 45' 8.4" E4° 18' 4.8" are the same as the coordinates you find at the top of this page given in MinDec. Make sure you know how to do the conversion when your GPS cannot be reconfigured to use DMS, check your conversion method before starting your trip. You'll notice that GeoCaching.com uses a precision of thousands of seconds (DD° MM" SS.SSS'), in the calculations below I stop at hundreds of seconds because this is already 6 times more precise then the thousands of minutes in the usual MinDec notation.
Some GPS systems do DMS but only allow a precision up till tens seconds (DD° MM" SS.S'), in that case you have to round your result.
Some additional waypoints are added just to make sure you get on the right track (when in doubt at a crossing, continue straight ahead but make sure not to miss small crossings with dirt roads). They're meant to be used by geocachers without any map (physical or integrated in the GPS system) to make sure they found the path I imagined to be taken when going from one waypoint to another.
Beside some good shoes/tires, you could prepare to take an calculator to ease the calculation/conversion of the coordinates.
You could also bring a stick for searching the stash that is hidden in the ground. A webpage is prepared to quickly print all relevant pictures, you could also download them on a smartphone or digital camera of course... If you don't want to loose a lot of time searching for the waypoints, have a look at the hints. Otherwise I am quite curious to know whether you've made it without looking at them, so mention it in your log if you didn't (use the hints)! At the coordinates on top of this page you find this series of digits to complete.

Note the digits for A, B and C and use it to find the waypoints below. Continue like that until the letter P (except N and E). Sometimes your result will be more then one digit in which case you need to take the 'digit sum', iow. sum up all the digits to become 1 digit, eg. 678 becomes 6+7+8=21, becomes 2+1=3. Beginning of August 2015 Rildera 'filled the gaps in the GC map' with a series of 40 trads and 2 new mystery caches: Although a lot of the tracks overlap, his series seems to be quite complementary to this multi ('easy' against 'cumbersome', a lot of logs against 1 log when you eventually find it, just follow your smartphone against resolving some formulas and entering the result in a not so common GPS coords notation, ...).
Make sure you do take the pictures of both with you at all times: There's even 1 picture in common with the bonus of Rildera's tour!
