Deutsche Beschreibung:
Beim Bau der ICE-Trasse wurde dieses Profil im Muschelkalk freigelegt.
In diesen Aufschluss sind folgende Schichten vertreten:
- Obere Mittlere Muschelkalk mit 8 m dünnplattigen Kalken, etwas dickbankigeren Zelldolomiten
- Obere Muschelkalk 1 mit etwa 11,5 m Trochitenkalkbänken (u.a. das Großrippelfeld)
- Obere Muschelkalk 2 mit den typischen Tonplatten
Die Segmente sind vor ca. 240 bis 235 Millionen Jahren entstanden.
Damals war dieses Gebiet ein flaches Meer.
Zu der Zeit als das dolomitischen Gestein entstand war das Meer sehr lebensfeindlich und deshalb nahezu fossilfrei.
Als der Trochitenkalk (u.a. das Großrippelfeld) entstand war das flach Meer sehr sauerstoffreich und das Leben kehrte zurück.
Das Großrippelfeld hat eine Höhe von etwa 6 bis 18 Meter und erschließt den Oberen Muschelkalk 1. Bei den Rippelmarken handelt es sich um Oszillationsrippen, die praktisch ein Abbild des Wellenganges des Sediments darstellt.
Vor allem findet man hier noch die Stielglieder von Seelilien (Encrinus liliiformis), die sogenannten Trochiten. Sehr selten findet mal hier komplette Seelilienkelche. Außerdem findet man hier noch Muscheln und Schnecken.
Dann folgt der Obere Muschelkalk 2. Hier sind die Leitfossilien die Ammoniten der Gattung Ceratiten.
Ferner können hier häufig Konkretionen und Prielfüllungen beobachtet werde.
Das Gelände ist frei zugänglich und es müssen auch keine Schienen betreten werden.

By the construction of the intercity express route this profile was exposed in the mussel lime.
