Jungle of Madeira
Madeira is not only a rough island without beaches, but also one of the nicest travelling areas in whole Europe. On one of these wanderings we would like to take you. Along of the Levada do Castelejo in the valley of the Ribeira de Sao Roque the way leads you to this Cache. It’s a slightly way to be gone, if one is sure about step and has a good head for heights. As usual with many wanderings on Madeira one runs along a Levada. But paid attention! In the course of the steep path is partially put out. The Cache lies near a nice picnic place. See also spoiler No 1. The way leads you from the gardens of the inhabitants of Madeira deeper and deeper in the untouched nature. One means almost in the jungle to stand if one imagines as not existing the economic way of the Levada.

Dschungel von Madeira
Madeira ist nicht nur eine raue Insel ohne Strände, sondern auch eines der schönsten Wandergebiete in ganz Europa. Auf eine dieser Wanderungen möchten wir dich mitnehmen. Eentlang der Levada do Castelejo in das Tal der Ribeira de Sao Roque führt dich der Weg zu diesem Cache. Es ist ein leicht zu gehender Weg, wenn man Trittsicher und Schwindelfrei ist. Wie gewohnt bei vielen Wanderungen auf Madeira läuft man entlang einer Levada. Aber aufgepasst! Im Verlauf ist der Steig teilweise ausgesetzt. Der Cache liegt in der Nähe eines schönen Picknickplatzes. Siehe auch Spoiler Nr 1. Der Weg führt dich von den Gärten der Einwohner Madeiras immer tiefer in die unberührte Natur. Man meint fast im Dschungel zu stehen, wenn man sich den Wirtschaftsweg der Levada wegdenkt.
Achtung!! Bereits vor dem großen Unwetter im Februar 2010 waren einige Stellen des Weges abgebrochen. Der geübte Wanderer schafft aber den Weg ohne Probleme. Mittlerweile dürfte auch dieser Weg von den fleißigen Levadeiros wieder repariert worden sein. Viel Spaß!
Ein besonderer Dank gilt unserem Housekeeper „Bacalhau“ für die evtl. nötige Wartung des Caches.
