Maastoluokitus riippuu lähestymisreitistä. Kätköä piilotettaessa äiti-ihminen pystyi hyvin kulkemaan paikalle hameessa, tosin jalassa oli lenkkarit :).
Kätkö sai innoituksensa oivalluksesta, että lontoonkielellä juhlitaankin äidin päivää. Mietiskelin aamutuimaan, mitä haluaisin omana päivänäni tehdä – no tietenkin viedä sen kätkön, jota jo jonkun aikaa olin suunnitellut.
Äidin päivää viettivät jo muinaiset kreikkalaiset. USA:ssa Julia Ward Howe kehottaa v. 1870 Äidin päivän julistuksessa rauhan ja kansainvälisyyden hengessä kaikkia rauhan töihin. Sellaista äidin päivää vietän mielelläni. (No, oli myös ihanaa saada lapsilta orvokkeja :) .)

The Finnish expression for Mother’s Day is plural (Mothers’ Day). As I realized that today is really my day, I wondered how I want to spent this special day of mine – well, caching of course!
The modern Mother's Day is celebrated on various days in many parts of the world. This day emerged from a custom of mother worship in ancient Greece.
The "Mother's Day Proclamation" by Julia Ward Howe was one of the early calls to celebrate Mother's Day in the United States. Written in 1870, this was a pacifist reaction to the carnage of the American Civil War and the Franco-Prussian War. The Proclamation was tied to Howe's feminist belief that women had a responsibility to shape their societies at the political level.

I really enjoy having a day of my own in this spirit. (Well, the lilacs that the kids brought me were lovely, too :) !)
