Geocache Description:

Small clip top cache painted black with located along the bike path from Palmerston. The cache contains a logbook, pen, and some small swaps.

We have also left some AA batteries in the cache in-case your GPS is running low and you are continuing on with your day and cant find a shop - we would ask if you use these could you please let us know so that we can replace them ASAP.

Please place the case back exactly as you found it as there are heaps of "Muggles" that use the area.

This cache is named after all members of our family who are all members of Scouts Australia and would encourage you to put down the remote and enjoy the company of others and the outdoors.

Darwin and it's surrounds provides a fantastic cycling environment for most of the year (even in the wet season). It is a particularly attractive city for outdoor activity and the increasing network of cycle paths is an added incentive for people to cycle for exercise, pleasure and commuting.

What better way to incorporate the fantastic outdoor pursuits of cycling and Geocashing. Why not take the family out for an adventure on their bikes.

Palmerston, just 15 minutes drive south of Darwin (60 minutes by bike), is recognised as one of the fastest growing cities in Australia and the commercial hub of the Outer Darwin region.

The area once provided a bountiful larder for the Aboriginal people of the region and later hosted a booming crocodile hunting and buffalo shooting industry. The path travels through scenic bushland where a wide variety of both native flora and fauna can be seen all year round.

Remember to bring plenty of water with you and a hat and sunscreen as it can get pretty hot and there are no shops around. It would also be advisable to wear insect repellent early morning or late afternoon as the mosquito's in the area can be pretty thirsty at these times.
