SAWMILL
Launkalne sawmill is part of Stora Enso Timber Northern European
Unit. It is located in the parish of Krogzemji, Valkas district in
close proximity to main roads and also the forestry region of
Latvia. The sawmill produces sawn spruce and pine with new
machinery and a new sawline. During its two years of operation the
sawing capacity has grown to 215 000 m3. In year 2005 the main
markets were in Latvia, Estonia, Germany, UK, Egypt, the
Netherlands, Austria and Greece. There are over 103 employees
altogether, and production works in three shifts. They share
positive atmosphere, maintained by organised events.
