1.) Die Geschichte des Boule-Spiels reicht Jahrhunderte zurück. Ihren Anfang nahm sie in Form diverser Kugelspiele, die in zahlreichen Ländern ausgeübt wurden. Von den vielen unterschiedlichen Spielvarianten haben sich heute das italienische Boccia und das französische Boule (auch Petanque genannt) durchgesetzt. Schon im 13. Jahrhundert wurde in Frankreich Boule gespielt. Die Popularität des Spiels stieg im 19. Jahrhundert stark an. Heute wird Boule/Petanque auf allen Erdteilen und in fast allen Ländern gespielt. In La Ciotat (Südfrankreich), dem Geburtsort des Petanque, wurde sogar eine Straße nach dem Spiel benannt.
The history of the game Boule started many centuries ago. It all began with different types of games which were played in several countries. Nowadays most people play either the Italian Boccia or the French Boule/Petanque. In the 13th century people in France startet to play Boule/Petanque. The game got more and more popular in the 19th century. Today Boule/Petanque is played on every continent and in nearly every country of the world. In La Ciotat (France), where Petanque was born, even a street was named after the game.
2.) Ursprünglich spielte man mit Holzkugeln, welche mit Nägeln beschlagen waren, um eine höhere Widerstandsfähigkeit zu erhalten sowie um rund zu laufen. Seit 1923 werden die Kugeln aus Metall hergestellt.
In the beginning the players used wooden balls covered with nails that made the balls more durable. Since 1923 balls made of metal are being used.
3.) Die Grundidee des Spiels ist einfach: jede Mannschaft versucht, eine oder mehrere ihrer Kugeln näher an einer Zielkugel zu platzieren als der Gegner. Die Zielkugel ("cochonnet") liegt in einer Entfernung von 6 bis 10 m zum Abwurfkreis. Es ist erlaubt, gegnerische Kugeln (oder auch die Zielkugel) mit den eigenen Kugeln wegzudrücken oder wegzuschießen.
The idea of the game is simple: every team tries to place one or more of their balls closer to the target-ball than the adversary. The target-ball ("cochonnet") lies in a distance of 6 to 10 m to the players. It is allowed to push balls (or the target-ball) with your own balls.
4.) Im Vergleich zur Grundidee ist die praktische Umsetzung des Spiels wesentlich komplizierter, da der Boden uneben und mit Steinen gespickt ist. Es bedarf daher einer Menge Ballgefühl, Konzentration und Übung, um seine Kugeln trotz der vorhandenen Widrigkeiten sicher ans Ziel zu bringen.
In comparison to the idea of the game, playing the game is much more difficult, because the ground is uneven and scattered with stones. A lot of touch, concentration and practice is necessary to get your balls close to the target-ball.
5.) Der Bouleplatz am Alten Zoll wird von Ende März bis Ende Oktober an Dienstagen, Donnerstagen und Samstagen vom Bouleverein ASF Bonn genutzt. Aber auch unorganisierte Einzelgruppen spielen hier im Sommer häufig. Selbst Promis wie Norbert Blüm, Kai Pflaume oder Hannes Wader hat man hier schon spielen sehen.
Between end of March and end of October the club ASF Bonn uses the playground at the Alter Zoll on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. In the summer unorganized groups play here often too. Even celebraties like (the former german politician) Norbert Blüm, (the german showmaster) Kai Pflaume or (the german singer/songwriter) Hannes Wader can sometimes be watched here while playing.
6.) Dank der Boulespieler, die im Sommer -unter Flutlicht- bis tief in die Nacht hinein spielen, entsteht ein herrliches französisches Flair. Auch der benachbarte Biergarten profitiert hiervon. Zudem ist der Blick auf den Rhein und das Siebengebirge toll. Alles in allem ein wunderbarer Ort, nicht nur zum Cachen.
Due to the players, who practise in the summer until late in the night, there is a magnificent french flair. The nearby beer garden benefits from it. The view of the River Rhine and the Siebengebirge ist great. Altogether it is a wonderful place, not just for caching.
7.) Um den Cache zu finden, müsst ihr am Wegpunkt 1 die Anzahl der Treppenstufen ermitteln.
Den Cache findet ihr dann an folgenden Koordinaten:
