“A Geocachers Annual Event Cache #8” Event Cache

This cache has been archived.

Pattycat: Unfortunately [:(] it is that time again, time to say thanks once again (not the unfortunate part) to all of you [:D] (and you know who YOU are) for making this year’s event another success [:D] and time to archive this cache [:(] (the unfortunate part). Don’t forget to keep an eye open [:O] for the personal invite I’ll send out some time in the New Year for the info on 2011’s event cache which will be held at the Horseshoe Lake campground on July 23rd and 24th. Please stay safe and play safe and be bush aware at all times.

Until next year then or on the ole Geotrails, bye for now, from your Geocaching friend Pattycat. [:o)]

Geocache Description:

#8’s Event Cache coming to you from all of us and in a different location too so come and join the fun in the sun.

As of 11 am this morning (July 23) there is no fire ban for our area but please remember, not only can that change but we have a limit on the size of fire we can have.

Here it is folks, the info for this year’s

"A Geocachers Event Cache #8"

organized by me, Pattycat, with assistance from a ton of people and this info is basically what I personally sent out to a lot of you. For those that didn’t get the personal invite I usually send out I’m sorry, I not only ran out of time but something interfered or I procrastinated quite well.

Info: For these events held in the past I held them on a long weekend but discovered that a lot of people couldn’t attend due to prior engagements so now I’m trying for a regular weekend as I did last year but it seems there are still some that can’t attend due to their prior engagements. I try to send this info out early enough for anyone to arrange time to attend if they want to but it doesn’t always work, I can’t please everyone, but I do try real hard.

Once again there will be games devised by me , prizes that have been donated (I hope), caches to find near the camping area (I hope some new ones too), a pot luck supper put on by everyone that attends, and a ton of sunshine and hopefully a fire this time but without the much needed white stuff last winter we may have yet another fire ban which I believe will be 5 years in a row.

When: It’s a two day campout event on a regular weekend in

July on the 24th and 25th weekend.

I will be setting up on the Friday and staying until sometime on Monday, you can arrive anytime you wish. If you can’t camp that’s okay but it would be nice for you to come for a visit, join in the games, win some prizes, and have some good ole fashion Geofun. And for those that do attend I’d like to see everyone participate in at least one of the games some of which I really haven’t thought up yet. Some of you sat out last year (you know who you are and I’d really like to see you participate this year, the more the merrier).

Where: This year instead of the usual camping spot we’ve had for the last 4 years we’re going to try a new place. We’re going to try partaking of this event at the

Horseshoe Lake Campground

and I don't believe there are any camping fees. I will send out directions in the near future (hopefully I can get my good buddy to do a map for us) on how to get to this area for those of you who are not familiar with the area however we are Geocachers so it shouldn’t be too hard. It is a large camping area surrounding a lake however we may not be able to camp too near the lake but not far from it as this area can be a very busy place during camping season. I will put up signs in hopes that they stay put since this will be a busy place by the time we’re all here but to my knowledge there is only two ways to enter this area both of which go around the lake and you’d eventually find the fun time area.

Games: There will be the usual 50/50 draw, Geopoker fun, and now that I have found a regular but small bingo cage with balls we’ll play bingo so bring your buttons or your pennies for markers, and there will a questionnaire too. I will think of more games to play rest assured and keep your eyes on this cache page as I’m certain to post more info.

Coords: The first set of coords to turn onto the road to get you to the junction to lead you to where all the action is = 49°33.883 x 115°31.057.

The second set of coords to get you from the junction to where all the action is = 49°34.041 x 115°30.974. You can go either way, left or right, if you go left you’re taking the scenic route but you will come upon us and if you go right you’re taking the way that is closer to where we are.

The third set of coords to get you to the FUN SITE where all the action is = 49°34.395 x 115°30.884 either right where we are or very close to it as I said this area will be very busy in July so I took this set of coords as close as I could to the Geofun area.

Thanks from your Geocaching friend, Pattycat.
