Le Marais des Etelles
Situé au pied du pic de l’Huile, le Marais des Etelles a été classé en zone naturelle protégée grâce à la présence d’une orchidée très rare (mais peu spectaculaire), le liparis de Loesel. Cette plante d’une quinzaine de centimètres de hauteur, est menacée par la disparition de ses biotopes (drainages, plantations, urbanisation…) et par leur évolution naturelle (densification du peuplement herbacé, embroussaillement, boisement spontané). Sa conservation nécessite donc une protection active pour maintenir une végétation basse et clairsemée (fauche, pacage ovin extensif).

The Marsh of les Etelles
Located at the bottom of the pike of l'Huile, the Marsh of les Etelles was listed as a protected wilderness area thanks to a very rare (but not very spectacular) orchid, the Liparis loeselii. This 15 centimeter-high plant is an endangered because of the extinction of its biotopes (drainage, plantations, urbanization...) and their natural evolution (denser grass and bushes, spontaneous afforestation). So it needs to be actively protected to maintain a low and thin vegetation (mowing, extensive ovine grazing).
