Le Cap Fréhel est une langue de terre sur la Côte d’émeraude,
située au nord-est de la Bretagne, entre Saint-Malo et
Saint-Brieuc. Les immenses falaises de granit rose sont un mystère
géologique. Les vulcanologues supposent que cette partie de la
Bretagne s’est formée suite à une importante éruption
volcanique acompagnée d’un écoulement de lave à la surface
pendant plusieurs millénaires. C’est pourquoi la couleur de
la lave est devenue visible. Aujourd’hui, cette bordure de
côte d’une dizaine de kilomètres de largeur offre un paysage
rocheux resplendisssant de tous les tons situés entre le rose et le
rouge. Le Cap Fréhel est une réserve ornithologique abritant un
grand nombre d’oiseaux couveurs. Le spectacle des mouettes en
vol plané se laissant porter par le vent permanent avant de se
laisser tomber d’une grande altitude dans l’eau en
criant est typique. Le rocher aux oiseaux La Grande Fauconnière,
situé directement au pied du Cap, sert de zone de nidification à
nombre d’oiseaux marins. Le Cap abrite deux phares.
L’un d’entre eux, datant du XVIIe siècle, a été érigé
par l’architecte Vauban. L’autre date de l’année
1950 et fait 85m de haut ; il est possible d’y monter aux
horaires d’ouverture et d’avoir par temps clair une
bonne vue jusqu’à la presqu’île normande. Pour avoir

Cap Frehel is a promontory on the Cote de Emeraude in the
northeastern Brittany between St Malo and St Brieuc,
The cliffs are made of red sandstone, black slate and pink-colored
granite. They fall steeply from the water and have a height of up
to 70 m.
This huge, pink granite rocks are composed of a mystery of Earth's
history. Volcanologists offer the explanation that this piece of
Brittany by a large volcanic eruption, the lava emerged and came to
the surface over thousands of years. This was the real colour of
lava to light. Today the coastline sparkles with about 10 km depth
on a rocky landscape with all the colors between pink and
red.
Cap Frehel is a bird sanctuary, with a huge variety of breeding
birds. Typical for this landside are the gulls as they are borne by
the wind always blowing in hover before they let go croaking from a
great height into the water.
The bird cliffs called La Fauconniere located directly on the Cape
serves many sea birds for breeding.
At the Cape there are two lighthouses. One is from the 17th Century
and was built by the architect Vauban. The other is from the year
1950, is 85 meters high and can be mounted at certain times, which
provides in clear weather for a good view to the Normandy
peninsula.

Das Cap Fréhel ist eine Landzunge an der Cote de Emeraude in der
nordöstlichen Bretagne zwischen Saint Malo und Saint
Brieuc,
Die riesigen, rosaroten aus Granit bestehenden Felsen sind ein
Mysterium der Erdgeschichte. Vulkanologen bieten die Erklärung,
dass dieses Stück der Bretagne durch einen großen Vulkanausbruch
entstand und die Lava über Jahrtausende an die Oberfläche gelangte.
Dadurch kam die eigentliche Lavafarbe zum Vorschein. Heute
erstrahlt der Küstensaum mit etwa 10 Kilometer Tiefe als felsige
Landschaft mit allen Farben zwischen rosa und rot.
Cap Fréhel ist ein Vogelschutzgebiet, das eine Vielzahl an
Brutvögeln beherbergt.
Ein typischer Anblick sind die Möwen, wie sie vom immer wehenden
Wind im Schwebeflug getragen werden, bevor sie sich aus großer Höhe
krächzend ins Wasser fallen lassen. Der direkt am Kap gelegene
Vogelfelsen La Fauconniere dient vielen Seevögeln als
Brutgebiet.
Am Kap stehen zwei Leuchttürme. Einer stammt aus dem 17.
Jahrhundert und wurde vom Baumeister Vauban erbaut. Der andere
stammt aus dem Jahre 1950, ist 85 m hoch und kann zu bestimmten
Zeiten bestiegen werden, was bei klarem Wetter für eine gute Sicht
bis zur normannischen Halbinsel sorgt.
Um den Earthcache zu loggen, sind folgende Aufgaben zu
erfüllen:
Mache ein Foto von Dir und deinem GPS an den gelisteten
Koordinaten.
