The place of the building complex and it’s urban position in the city is determining it’s value and importance. This investment does not undertake less - than that way in it’s full development will unites Újlipótváros with Terézváros above the rail canyon of the Western Railwaystation. The next steps of the construction is the ZOO, the Citypark and the zone of Heroes Square will be connected via high architecture to the downtown of Budapest. The meaning of this complex is the collapsed multifunctionality. As the facade of the Váci street side, it’s following: the three leveled terraces, the commercial world of the passages and the new promenade of the Hilton Hotel’s sharp and disciplined form meaning the building itself. Also a high-tech hall of the main building. The construciton and the material using of the Westend wishes to indicate one to the monarchy's old railway station architecture, especially to the „Eiffel Hall" of the Western Railwaystation. The multilevel roof gardens of the building has turned to an integral part of the surrounding districts. The building has been won the first prize of the Prix d'Excellence International Property Development’s Award for Excellence application in 2001.

Az épületegyüttes telepítése - helye - városi pozíciója a város egészére nézve meghatározó értéku és jelentoségu. Nem kevesebbre vállalkozik ez a beruházás - mint arra, hogy teljes kiépítésében egyesíti majd a Nyugati Pályaudvar „sín-kanyonja" felett a Terézvárost az Újlipótvárossal. Az építés következo lépcsoivel az Állatkert, a Városliget és a Hosök tere zónája a Podmaniczky utcán és a felülépítéseken keresztül összekötheto lesz majd a Belvárossal is! Az épületegyüttes lényege konglomerált többcélúsága - így a Váci úti utca- és térstruktúra szerkezetét követo 3 szintes terek, passzázsok kereskedelmi „világa", s a Váci utcai új promenádot megteremto Hilton Hotel, ill. az irodaházak karakteres, fegyelmezett, de hitünk szerint nagyon korszeru hangú tégla-architektúrája -- vagy a Fejépület csarnokának attraktív, reklám-értéku high-tech deklarációja - s a MÁV utascsarnok részletgazdag, igen „mai" épülete, utascsarnoka. A Westend építészete, anyaghasználata egyszerre kíván utalni a Monarchia régi vasútállomás-építészetéhez, konkrétabban pedig a Nyugati Pályaudvar „Eiffel csarnokához". A ház többszintes tetokertjei immár a két határoló kerület, s a Belváros szerves részévé váltak. Az épület megnyerte a 2001. évi Prix d'Excellence Nemzetközi Ingatlanfejlesztési Nívódíj pályázat kereskedelmi létesítmények kategóriájának 1. díját. |
